The story of Spahotel Casino on Kasinosaari Island dates back to the Tsarist era, when Savonlinna’s first spa and the Casino restaurant building were completed in 1896.

The spa (sauna and pool area) will be closed for a spring break from 6 April to 31 May 2026. We will reopen for the summer season 2026. The hotel and restaurant will continue to operate as normal until further notice.

Reception
Reception is open 24/7. Next to the reception, you’ll find the Lobby Bar and a small souvenir shop, offering coffee, drinks and light snacks. Check-in starts at 15:00 and check-out is by 12:00.
Parking
Spahotel Casino offers a limited number of parking spaces.Parking is free for hotel guests and meeting/restaurant visitors. Please report your vehicle registration number to reception upon arrival. The parking area has four EV charging points operated by Lumme Energia.
Gym
The use of the gym is included in the accommodation and spa entry ticket.
Bicycles
During the summer season, hotel guests can explore the surrounding area with bikes available for rent from reception (€5/hour). You can also rent an e-fatbike from the lobby: 2 h €40, 3 h €60, 4 h €70, full day €80, or weekend (Fri–Sun) €180. Helmets and high-visibility vests are available.
Postal Services
At the reception, guests can purchase domestic and international postage stamps. Postcards can also be left at the reception for mailing.
Luggage room
Next to the reception, a locked luggage room is available where guests can store their bags free of charge for the day.
Children’s play room
Spahotel Casino has two children’s play areas on the 1st floor: a small play corner next to the reception and a larger playroom, Väinölä. In addition, the sports hall on the 2nd floor is available for families during spa opening hours when the hall is not booked.
Guest Harbour
Spahotel Casino’s guest harbour sits on Lake Saimaa, next to the pedestrian bridge to the city centre. Open May to September, it offers 55 berths with water, waste disposal, and septic services. The fee is €21 per night (electricity €6) and includes spa access. Check in and pay at the hotel reception or Restaurant Est.1969 bar. Voted Guest Harbour of the Year 2026 by Finnish boaters.

Spahotel Casino is located on Kasinosaari Island in the very heart of Savonlinna, right by Lake Saimaa. Here, the tranquillity of Finnish lake nature meets the charm of a picturesque small town, and every season offers its own unique experience, from the lively international atmosphere of summer to the fairytale beauty of winter and the magic of Olavinlinna Castle. Getting here is easy: trains stop at Kauppatori, just about 200 metres from the hotel, and the bus station is also within a short distance. You can also arrive by boat.
